Everyone's favourite snack recipe - the ENERGY BITE, or sometimes referred to as a BLISS BALL. With a new school year starting and new athletes to teach about proper nutrition, one of the most frequently asked questions is "do you have any snack ideas?" Well, these recipes are top of my list!

I've complied several recipes I've actually posted before into one post so it's easy to find and easy to get to when you're meal prepping. These energy bites are a great snack to have on hand during a busy day of work, classes, or life. We all know HANGER is a real thing so let's do our best to avoid it, okay? Below you'll find a couple different recipes with flavour-combos depending on what you're feeling.

Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip (the OG)

Ingredients

  • 1 Cup of Rolled Oats
  • 1/2 Cup of Peanut Butter
  • 1/3 Cup of Raw Honey or Maple Syrup
  • 1/2 Cup of Flax Seeds
  • 1-2 Tbsp. of Chia Seeds
  • 1/3 Cup of Coconut Flakes
  • 1/2 Cup of Chocolate Chips
  • 1 Tsp. of Vanilla
  • Pinch of Salt

Note: Makes 12 servings

Directions

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine all ingredients and stir until completely mixed
  • Cover and place in fridge for 10-15 minutes
  • Form into balls and place in air-tight container

Key Lime Pie (forever Summer)

Ingredients

  • 1/4 Cup of Almonds
  • 1/4 Cup of Cashews
  • 1/4 Cup of Coconut Butter
  • 2 Medjool Dates
  • 3 Limes
  • 1 Tbsp of Coconut Oil
  • 1/4 of Shredded Coconut
  • Pinch of Sea Salt

Directions

  • In a food processor, ground up almonds and cashews until they are finely chopped
  • Add coconut butter, dates, zest and juice of each lime, coconut oil and sea salt
  • Mix or blend until combine and use spatula to scrap the sides and contents into a bowl
  • Form into balls and roll in shredded coconut
  • Place in fridge for ~15 minutes and enjoy!

Pumpkin Spice (every basic girl's dream)

Ingredients

  • 1/4 Cup of Almonds
  • 1/4 Cup of Cashews
  • 1/4 Cup of Walnuts
  • 1/4 Cup of Almond Butter
  • 2-3 Medjool Dates
  • 1 Tbsp of Coconut Oil
  • 1 Tsp of Cinnamon
  • 1 Tsp of Nutmeg
  • 1 Tsp of Pumpkin Spice

Directions

  • In a food processor, ground up almonds, cashews, and walnuts until they are finely chopped
  • Add almond butter, dates, cinnamon, nutmeg, pumpkin spice, coconut oil and sea salt
  • Mix or blend until combine and use spatula to scrap the sides and contents into a bowl
  • Form into balls and dust with cinnamon
  • Place in fridge for ~15 minutes and enjoy!

Birthday Cake Crispy Clusters

Ingredients

  • 1/3 Cup of Sunflower Butter
  • 1 Cup of Oat Flour
  • 2 Cups of Quinoa Puffs or Rice Krispies
  • 1/2 Cup of Honey
  • 2 Tbsp of Raw Cacao Powder
  • 1 Tbsp of Maca Powder
  • 1 Tsp of Vanilla Extract
  • 1/2 Tsp of Sea Salt
  • 3 Tbsp of Rainbow Sprinkles
  • 1/2 Cup of Mini Chocolate Chips (optional)

Directions

  • Mix dry ingredients together
  • In a separate bowl, mix sunflower butter, honey, and vanilla until completely combine
  • Mix wet and dry ingredients, slowly folding in chocolate chips
  • Roll into balls – add sprinkles for a festive kick
  • Refrigerate and enjoy!
