Gratitude is powerful word. Being grateful is a powerful action. As much as it is important to be grateful year round, the Christmas season is a special time to be reflective on all things that are important in your life. The older I get, the more I try to reflect on all the amazing people and opportunities I've been blessed with. As part of my morning routine, I write down 3 things I am grateful for every day.

This is going to be short blog because I think Christmas Day is meant to be spent with loved ones, but I challenge you to complete an exercise. No, this is not a movement based exercise, but a reflection one. Grab a piece of paper and a pen and write down 10 things you are grateful for in this moment. It could be a list of your favourite people, it could be the fact you have a roof over your head and meals to eat - whatever YOU are grateful for, write it down.

Writing down and reflecting on what you are grateful for now will help prepare to set some new goals to crush in the new year. But before we look ahead to 2017, let's remember all the ups and downs that got us to where we are at the end of 2016.

All the best to you and your loved ones this holiday - may your Christmas, or festive celebration be filled with lots of love, laughs and good food. I am most definitely grateful for each and every reader, supporter and follower of Training2XL that has allowed me to share my passion for training, nutrition, and sport.

Happy holidays my homies, from my family to yours :)
