Healthy Take on Super Bowl Snacks

Okay, I'll cut the small talk for this one. We all know that this coming Sunday is going to be all about football and food, so I thought I would give some healthier suggestions for Super Bowl Snacks.

Buffalo Cauliflower Bites


  • 4 Cups of Cauliflower Florets
  • 1/2 Cup of Almond Milk
  • 3/4 Cup of Oat Flour
  • 2 Tsp of Garlic Powder
  • 1 Tsp of Paprika
  • 1 Tsp of Cumin
  • 1 Tsp of Nutritional Yeast (optional)
  • 1 Tsp of Sea Salt
  • 1 Tsp Ground Pepper
  • 1 Cup of Frank's Red Hot


  • Preheat oven to 425°
  • Rinse and cut up cauliflower into small pieces
  • Mix almond milk, oat flour, seasonings and 1/2 cup of Frank's in a bowl to create the batter
  • Coat pieces of cauliflower in batter then place on a baking sheet with a little space between each piece
  • Bake for 25 minutes, flipping the florets half way through
  • Drizzle the remaining hot sauce onto florets as they are cooling
  • Enjoy!

Chex-Crusted Chicken Nuggets


  • 2 Cups of Chex Cereal (measure before crushing)
  • 6-8 Chicken Strips
  • 2 Whole Eggs
  • 1 Cup Coconut Flour
  • 1 Tsp of Garlic Powder
  • 1 Tsp of Paprika
  • Sea Salt & Pepper to taste


  • Preheat oven to 425°
  • With a rolling pin, crush up Chex into very small pieces (can use a food processor too!)
  • Mix coconut flour and seasonings in one bowl, then beat eggs and place in a separate bowl
  • Cut up chicken strips into "nugget" size pieces and dip pieces into (1) egg mixture, (2) flour mixture, then (3) Chex mixture
  • Place on baking sheet and cook for 16 minutes, flipping after 8 minutes



  • 2 Whole Avocados
  • 1/2 Red Onion
  • 1 Tbsp of Lime Juice
  • 1 Tsp of Sea Salt
  • 1 Tsp of Pepper
  • 1 Tsp of Minced Garlic
  • 1/4 Cup of Tomatoes
  • 1 Tbsp of Cilantro (optional)
  • 1 Tsp of Red Chilli Flakes


  • Cut and mash avocados then combine rest of ingredients!

Quick Tip: I use endives to dip in the guac to keep things a little bit lighter. Endives are a leafy vegetable similar to lettuce but a little firmer so great for dipping!

Favourite Store-Bought Snacks

These are some of my favourite brans and healthier alternatives to some game day snacks. The number one thing I look at is INGREDIENTS. Can I read all of the ingredients? Can I pronounce them? Do I know what they are? It's important to know what you're putting in your body, especially with prepackaged foods - there's always better options!
