Turkey Burgers & Sweet Potato Buns

Ah summertime ... the perfect grilling season! I love taking advantage of the nice weather and using the BBQ to grill up some wicked meals. A classic? BURGERS. I often opt for the lighter option and use ground turkey or ground chicken, but you can use any ground meat you prefer for the recipe. Whether you use turkey, chicken, or beef - all are great sources of protein that will help fill you up and aid in your body's recovery and rebuild of lean muscle mass.

The sweet potato buns were inspired by a recipe I saw on an episode of Diners, Drive-inns, and Dives (a Food Network personal favourite). Not that it's necessarily a lower carb option, but I figured sweet potatoes are a wicked source of carbohydrates but are also packed with a lot of vitamins and minerals to make it a more nutrient-dense option.

This meal will most definitely satisfy your stomach and give you a bit of every macronutrient, and ample sources of micronutrients, so enjoy!

Sweet Potato Buns
