Welcome to Training2XL
Welcome! So happy you have made your way to my website. I’m excited to share my passion for sweat, sport and good food with you! I like to keep things real here, I’ll share my thoughts on certain topics, give my two-cents about new restaurants, training gear, or fad diets – but they’re MY thoughts, so I don’t expect you to agree with everything … that’s the fun part, right? We live in a world right now where a lot of people claim they are “experts” – I am happy to say, I am NOT one of those people. I love to learn and I plan on continuing to learn each and every day of my life. I am no guru, but I take pride in the fact that I am educated and I have jumped head first into a lot of unique experiences.
My love for training sparked long ago and I credit my brothers for that. They taught me a lot of valuable life lessons that helped shape me into the coach I am today. I guess I should start by explaining how it all started … I was an athlete at heart, but unfortunately my body needed a little more convincing …
Needless to say, I didn’t look the way I do now. Body image is a subject I will definitely dive into in the future, but for now I will keep it short. I was not happy being bullied for my size, and I was not happy that my athleticism was often overlooked, but those experiences are what gave me the spark I needed. After being told I was “too fat and too slow to ever amount to anything in basketball” – the fire ignited. From that point on, I refused to listen to the no’s and the cant’s – I was going to make a change.
Fast-forward eight years, and I have now taken control of my body and helping others do the same. Whether it’s to reach a performance goal or create a healthier lifestyle, I want to help people bring out the best versions of themselves in every facet.
Being a strength and conditioning coach is one of the most satisfying jobs in the world and it continues to challenge me each and every day. Whether it is figuring out a new rep scheme or determining the most effective way to teach a new skill – it has allowed me to share my passion for sport, training, and learning with others. Follow me on my journey as a strength and conditioning coach, taking detours through the land of health and wellness, with a couple pit-stops at my philosophies – its been a heck of a ride so far, and I know its only going to get better …
My first piece of advice … keep your head high and shoe game strong.
